Our Leadership Team

Principal – Jason Munro

Jason started as a teacher with the department in 1993 and taught in year 3-7 classrooms for 17 years before entering leadership as an Assistant Principal at Noarlunga Downs Primary School. Jason's teaching experience spanned a number of schools including Leigh Creek Area School, Marla Primary School and Reynella East Primary School. Science, PE, visual arts, mathematics, innovation, learner agency and building relationships were key to Jason's success as a teacher. Jason has been a principal since June 2011 leading Lockleys Primary School and Eden Hills Primary School prior to starting as principal at Westbourne Park Primary School in January 2020. Jason's current tenure runs through to the end of 2025.


Deputy Principal – Cleo De Gouw (currently working at Flagstaff Hills Primary School for 2 terms until term 3, 2023)

Cleo began teaching in 1983 at Meningie Area School, followed by 4 years in Port Augusta. Upon return to the metropolitan area, she worked in a number of schools in the southern area specialising in Early Years teaching. During this time, Cleo also took the opportunity to move to Suffolk in the U.K. for a number of years, teaching from year 1-6. Throughout her career, Cleo would volunteer for any opportunity to take on leadership roles for various projects, enabling her to increase her depth of knowledge, skills and experience. This led to her working as a Reading Support Coach and Deputy Principal at Parkside Primary. Cleo moved to Walkerville Primary School, having won the Assistant Principal R-3 position, where she also stepped into the acting principal role for a time. In 2018 she began her 5 year tenure at Westbourne Park Primary School as the Deputy Principal. Cleo is passionate about her role supporting all students, staff and parents through early intervention and the student review team members from DfE. Cleo's current tenure runs through to the end of 2023.

Assistant Principal (Information Technology) – Kieran Moors

Kieran took up teaching in 2006. He began his teaching career in Millicent with his own yr 6/7 class. After 12 months he moved back to Adelaide where he taught Junior Primary classes at Hackham West for 3 years. He then moved further south with his family and began a 9 year stint at Aldinga Primary, where he was instrumental in establishing an all boys class of year 3 students, he also put Aldinga Primary on the map for his innovative use of digital technologies and ensuring that Aldinga Primary was one of the first schools in SA using the NBN. Kieran began to transition into various leadership roles whilst at Aldinga Primary. He worked as a literacy coach, ICT coordinator, Library Manager and then Assistant Principal. In 2018 Kieran moved to Warradale Primary where he was the acting Deputy Principal, managing student learning support.  Since 2019 Kieran has been one of the Assistant Principals (Information Technology) at Westbourne Park Primary. Kieran supports the way teachers access student information, report on students, assists in the improvement of teacher/parent communication by making contact details more accessible. He works closely with teachers to plan and implement the digital technologies curriculum. Kieran's tenure runs though to end of 2023.

Assistant Principal (Wellbeing) – Sam Kavanagh

Sam has been teaching since 2012, starting at Marion Primary School as a contract teacher Sam worked as a middle primary teacher and Early Years Intervention Coordinator before winning permanency at Eden Hills Primary School in 2015. Sam worked at Eden Hills until 2020 as a Middle Primary Teacher, Acting Deputy Principal and various coordinating roles. In 2020 Sam won the role at Westbourne Park Primary as Assistant Principal with a focus on Wellbeing. Within her role Sam works in partnership with students, staff and the wider community to build a welcoming school culture that values diversity, collaboration, respect and wellbeing, leading to positive learning outcomes for all students. Sam’s current contract finishes at the end of 2023.
