Mark Anders - Chairperson

Mark joined the Governing Council in 2021 and has 2 children attending the school. Mark is in his second year as chairperson and having a finance and accounting background Mark has previously taken on the role of Treasurer and was chair of the finance committee. 

Mark enjoys working with the Governing Council members and other people in the school community to assist provide a memorable primary school experience for the children.

Theo Sasopoulos - Treasurer

Theo has two children attending WPPS, Ari in Year 4 and Zen in Year 1 and has been on Governing council since 2021. In that time he has served on a variety of sub committees and enjoys having an active involvement within the school across Education and Finance.

Theo has a background in Accounting and Finance and has a senior finance role working in one of the country’s largest Agribusinesses. In 2024, Theo is in his second year in the role of Treasurer and looks forward to continuing working closely with School Leadership in this role.

James Telford

James has been a parent of the school since 2017, with Jackon graduating in 2023 and April currently in Year 4. This is his fourth year on the Governing Council. James’ family values our wonderful school community and views the Governing Council as an helpful link to the WPPS leadership and teaching team.

Philippa Marsh

Philippa has 3 children at the school, Isla in UC4 and, Eden in LC3 and Oscar in LC4. Philippa is a teacher with many years of classroom experience and is now a Lecturer at UniSA. Philippa has been on the GC for the past four years and this year has taken on the role of working with a wonderful group of parents to coordinate the Fundraising Committee.

Marnie Hope

Marnie has two children at WPPS, Ryan in year 4 and Eva in year 2. This is her second year on the Governing Council and is on the Education and Grounds and Facilities Committee too.

Marnie works in the climate change and sustainability area and loves to go camping and all things STEM related. She loves the sense of community at WPPS and looks forward to positively contributing to the Council and Committees. Marnie has been on the Mitcham Pre School Governing Council before and volunteered for Guide Dogs.

Jessica Walkley

Jess has two children at WPPS: Zara in year 2 and Patrick in Reception. This year, she's a fresh face on the Governing Council and is also on the Canteen Committee. 

Professionally, Jess is a Critical Care Nurse at Flinders Medical Centre, juggling roles as an ICU Educator and Nurse Consultant for MedSTAR Retrieval service. She also enjoys her role as a Casual Academic at Flinders University. Beyond her professional commitments, Jess is all about connecting with people and lending a hand. She's excited to bring positive energy to the WPPS community and make a difference on the Governing Council.

Chris Gobbett

Chris is the father of two daughters attending WPPS, Isabel (Year 3) and Lucy (Reception), and with his first year in the Governing Council is looking to contribute to and help improve the school for students today and into the future.

Chris has a background in engineering and computer science working in private and public sectors, and currently works in program management overseeing research and development activities relating to cybersecurity.

UNISA Profile

Amanda McConnell

Amanda (more commonly known as Mandy) is married to Ross, and they have two boys attending WPPS - Hugh in Year 5 and Henry in Year 3.  Mandy is Registered Nurse with Emergency specialty training and is currently working at the Women's and Children's Paediatric Emergency Department. Mandy is an identical twin and her sister Kirsty also has a daughter at WPPS. Mandy is very approachable and loves meeting new people so please stop her for a chat next time you see her. 

It is Mandy's second year on Governing Council, and she looks forward to giving back and working with staff and Governing Council members to ensure that WPPS continues to grow and thrive.

Stephen Muir

As someone who is very local, Steve is looking forward to becoming more involved with the school and supporting his daughter Caroline’s (year 1) education journey.

Steve is a water sector professional who has worked across many areas of the business including water quality science, engineering, operations, and vocational technical training.

Rebekah Hudson

Rebekah has 2 daughters Ava is in year 1 at WPPS and Georgia is at kindy this year.  This is her first year on the Governing Council and is on the Fundraising Committee also.

Rebekah is a people and culture leader in the public sector, was a governing council member and fundraising chair at kindy. Rebekah is looking forward to contributing to our school community.

Noralyn Manucat-Tan

Noralyn has one child at WPPS, Hannah, who is in Year 1. This is her second year on the Governing Council, and she is also a member of the Fundraising Committee. Noralyn works as a postdoctoral researcher at Flinders University. She loves to help the school in whatever way she can and meet other wonderful parents at WPPS.

Staff Representatives

Sean Mullin

I am currently teaching in a 5/6 cohort and have been at the school for many years. I have two adult children who attended WPPS and have been heavily involved in Governing Council for most of my time here. I highly value my role in representing my colleagues and working with Council members on continually improving our school.

Tilly

I have been teaching for 4 years and have spent the last 3 years at Westbourne Park. I am currently teaching in the Junior Primary team in Reception. I completed my Masters of Teaching and Learning in Auckland, New Zealand. It is my first year on Governing Council and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the teaching and learning community.
