Canteen – Fresh Bites Cafe

The school canteen is open daily, Monday to Friday, during recess and lunch breaks providing healthy food options to our students and staff and occasionally caters for school events and functions.

We follow recommendations by the Right Bite Food and Drink Supply Standards (Right Bite Standards), which aims to ensure that healthy food and drink options are available for students in South Australian schools.

Students and staff can purchase freshly made snacks, fresh or frozen fruit, drinks and other items over the counter at both recess and lunch.

Our lunch menu incorporates a wide selection of hot and cold foods, including options catering to a variety of dietary requirements. We take pride in the fact that a majority of our lunch menu items are freshly made on-site using produce sourced, where possible, from local businesses, Hanns Green Grocery, Masters of Bread and The Village Baker.

Throughout the year our menu changes to reflect the seasons and fresh produce availability. Each term we hold several Special Food Days to celebrate specific occasions or to offer a food item not frequently available on our term menu.

School families and staff can order both recess and lunch items daily prior to 9:00am via the Qkr! app. Recess orders are collected from the canteen and lunch orders are delivered to class in the daily lunch tub.

Volunteers are an important part of our school community, we welcome parents and grandparents to assist with baking, lunch order preparation and service at recess and lunch. All volunteers must meet Westbourne Park Primary School Volunteering Requirements.
