Resource Centre

Our Resource Centre is place where everyone is welcome!

Students visit the Resource Centre once a week with their class and teacher and are allowed to borrow 6 books for 2 weeks.

Students have the opportunity to choose reading material from a big selection of graphic novels, picture fiction, fiction, early chapter and non-fiction books. We help our students to find books that are at their reading level and books that they will enjoy, aiming to help them improve their literacy skills. We would love them to develop a lifelong habit of reading for pleasure.

The Resource Centre can be visited before/after school and during lunchtime. At lunchtime the Resource Centre becomes a place to read, play games, create magnificent structures with magnetic blocks and Lego, be creative with drawing and other crafts.

The Resource Centre runs Scholastic book Club, participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge, the National Simultaneous Storytime and Book Week. The annual Scholastic Bookfair is a highlight for the students.

“If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking” Haruki Murakami

Our Resource Centre is a vibrant centre, magnificently run by Roelien.

We will be moving to a smaller space in mid 2022 while our larger brand new Resource Centre is being built but all the resources, enjoyment and activities will continue to be available.
